In this video, recorded at the Chris D. Horton Legacy Sniper Competition 2024, we’re sharing a reliable technique to keep your steel cable kit taut and avoid line sag. A properly tensioned line not only improves stability but also makes it easier to manage during long training sessions.
Here’s the setup:
Start with Two Eye Bolts: Attach two sturdy eye bolts to a tree—one at the top and one at the bottom.
Pulley System: Connect a pulley to the top eye bolt, allowing the cable to run smoothly through it.
Ratchet Strap: Secure a ratchet strap to the bottom eye bolt. This allows you to tighten the cable from ground level with ease.
This setup may take a few extra steps but provides two major advantages. First, it keeps your cable tight and stable, reducing line sag. Second, it allows easy lowering of the line—no ladder needed! This is especially helpful for quickly swapping out batteries on your Dynamic Range X1 System and getting back to training without a hitch.
