Dynamic Range Moving Targets at IDPA Match

This video demonstrates the use of the Dynamic Range X1 Plus during a public IDPA (International Defensive Pistol Association) match, where 20 shooters competed. The event took place at an indoor range with steel walls. Instead of drilling into the walls to set up the moving target system, the organizers used industrial magnets as attachment points, eliminating the need for end posts.

Detailed Setup and Operation:

  1. Magnetic Attachment: The use of industrial magnets on the steel walls provided a secure and non-invasive way to set up the moving target system. This method is useful for ranges where drilling or permanent fixtures are not allowed.

  2. Indoor Range Setup: Given that the match was indoors, an additional person was required to operate the Dynamic Range X1 Plus remote. This ensured smooth operation and allowed the range officer to focus on safety and match procedures.

  3. Pre-Programmed Target Movements: To ensure fairness and consistency, the organizers pre-programmed the target's movement pattern into the X1 Plus remote. This meant that every shooter faced the exact same target movements, which helped maintain a level playing field across the competition.

  4. Match Flow: The match started with the target moving to the right, incorporating simulated non-threats to add complexity. After reaching its endpoint, the target then moved back to the left, creating a dynamic and challenging shooting scenario.

This setup not only provided a unique challenge for the participants but also demonstrated the versatility and ease of use of the Dynamic Range X1 Plus, making it an excellent addition to shooting matches looking to incorporate moving targets.
